About Us

Posted by Brent Finnegan on July 17th, 2006

hburgnews.com was founded in July 2006 as a way for the online community of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County to stay informed and exchange information. It was originally inspired by other community news blogs, like Waldo Jaquith’s cvillenews.com.

Our mission is to provide the residents of the city of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County with a hands-on platform to participate in the local media experience through content creation, news reporting, and discussion. We’re doing all we can to make hburgnews your sustainable, community-driven news network. But hburgnews.com is only as good at the readers and contributors make it. We invite you to help us improve on it.

If you have a news tip or would like to make a private comment, CONTACT US.
