Sime vs Hanger in the 24th district

Brent Finnegan -- August 15th, 2006

Ok, so technically this isn’t Hburg news (and this isn’t really a political blog), but the 24th state senatorial district reaches into the southern and eastern regions of Rockingham County, just outside the city limits. Current senator Emmett Hanger, a Republican, will be up defending his seat against Arin Sime, a Libertarian challenger. Sime claims that Hanger is too Democrat-friendly, and hopes to win over the fiscal conservative voters. But so far, most Republicans want nothing to do with him. Hanger also has more than twice the campaign money Sime has, so I don’t know if this will even be close.

As far as I know, there is no Democrat challenger in the race. I’m pretty sure they will not be going with conservative Steve Sisson again.

A Libertarian running against a Republican, right after that brutal heat wave. I feel like I’m in Texas again.
