Hburg first to get IPv6

IPv6 stands for Internet Protocol version 6. Although you can currently access the Internet from cell phones and blackberries, current technology (IPv4) doesn’t support enough IP addresses for every networked electronic device on the planet. IPv6 supports more addresses than there are people in the world. As I understand it, IPv6 has less to do bandwith, and more to do with addresses and routing. It’s a new system of internetworking, not a big fat fiber optic pipeline. If you know more about it than I do (which wouldn’t surprise me) please post a comment and enlighten us.
IPv6 still has some bugs to work out, but what new technology doesn’t?
Why is Harrisonburg the first place it’s being tested? According to the DNR, network design company World Airwaves (based in Winchester) is footing the bill for the system setup. So why aren’t they setting it up in Winchester first? Is it possible that Hburg has a better reputation for new technologies — with our Downtown Technology Zone?

Apparently all have harrisonburg would then be a big wireless zone. I don’t know how/if the charge for this.
I am so moving out of Harrisonburg at the wrong time.
Any talk of when this is coming to the burg?
