RECENTLY:

Jim Webb visited Jess’s Quick Lunch.

Ralph Sampson (who helped the HHS Streaks to win two state AA championships, went on to play in the NBA, and has a park in NE H’burg named after him) is going to serve two months in jail for mail fraud involving non-payment of child support.

WXJM is on the air again.

EVENTS:

Woody Allen’s Scoop is playing at the Court Square Theater through the 13th at 7:30.

Also on the 13th, Meneguar, Dialogues, and Maple Union play Taylor Down Under 8pm free.

Seymour Chwast show at the Sawhill Gallery now through Sept 30th.

Thursday the 14th: Open mic night at the Little Grill… Thursday is also the first night of the city’s Citizen Academy. I’ll let you know how that goes.

Sept 16 – KidFlix at the CST: Chicken Little at 2:00.

On Sept 17, the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Club is participating in the 25/50/100 mile road ride… Also on the 17th, Our Community Place is having a coffehouse fundraiser at the Little Grill. Donate what you will to help OCP with construction costs.

    Gah! I can’t believe I almost missed Scoop! I’ve passed by the poster everyday since they put it up! Hope I’m not too beat to see it tonight… Wonder what the chances of a wide release are. I’ve heard it’s the best Woody in years. Nice to hear WXJM again, still wish they’d ditch “Metal Middays.”
