regarding Kelley Street and the northeast…

Brent Finnegan -- October 26th, 2006

I really wish I had more time to devote to writing about the ongoing issues in town, like how and why northeast Harrisonburg is the way it is (or at least seems–higher crime rate, lower incomes, etc). When I read stories like this, I feel like there’s something missing, like the background of the neighborhood itself. That’s the sort of thing news stories don’t give you. Unfortunately, I’m currently a bit overextended.

A few months ago, I did an extensive interview with Ron Copeland about OCP (in the same NE neighborhood), but I haven’t even had time to write anything (insightful) up. I just don’t have the time.

If anyone would like to write about it, or if you know of features/studies/news stories that have already been written on the subject, please feel free to contact me or leave a comment with a link.
