RECENTLY:

The Valley lost it’s premier local historian, John Heatwole. I met him several years ago, but I have many questions that I always wanted to ask him, and now will never get the chance to.

According to Republitarian, Rockingham BoS member Bill Kyger will be the new president of VACo… Also, “some big tech firm” is rumored to be setting up shop in the technology park soon.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Nov 30: Debra Liang-Fenton, executive director of the U.S. Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, will speak on “The Challenge of Human Rights in North Korea” at 7:30 Thursday in Cole Hall on the BC campus.

Nov 30th, Dec 7 & 8: Underground rock shows at Club Sandwich, Crayola, and Captain Tees.

Dec 1 – 3: documentary The US vs John Lennon is playing at the Court Square Theater.

Dec 2 & 3: Shenandoah Valley Wine Country winery tours.

Dec 6: Alternative Giving Fair for the regional library at First Pres.

Dec 8: Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now, which airs locally on WEMC (M – F, 10-11) will be speaking at Community Mennonite Church and signing books.

Dec 10: Last day of the Green Valley Book Fair this year.

Also on the 10th: Silent Auction to Benefit the Mission trip to the Gulf Coast Region over Spring Break 2007 with JMU students. For more info call 540-434-3490.
