I thought this was an interesting decision for the Dems – probably picked because he is one of the only politicians in DC who actually has a son in Iraq. Webb has a reputation for being a hothead who speaks his mind, so it will be interesting to see if he continues to make strong statements, or if he tones it down to make non-positioning statements.

It’s not just on FOX, though. It will be on TV3, MSNBC, and just about every other channel you can flip to.

This decision might have been made because he has a son in Iraq, but I think its more about his brazen opposition to Bush. Remember when he refused to shake Bush’s hand at a dinner welcoming the new Senators to Washington? He instantly became the poster boy for bi-partisan mudslinging, and demonstrated his willingness to voice both his own beliefs and those of the Democratic party, regardless of how he might be judged for being so outspoken. I hope he doesn’t back down from making “strong statements” tonight and remains unafraid to be vocal.

Unfortunately I missed it, but have been reading rave reviews of Webbs speech at NLS.

RK has a YouTube video of the speech.

I just have to echo the comments on NLS. This was a solid speech from a dude that knows what he is talking about on matters of war… Its so weird to feel proud of one of our politicians.
