payday lending meeting on the 3rd

Brent Finnegan -- January 27th, 2007

Next Saturday, February 3, at 10 am, there will be an informational meeting regarding payday lending at the Library (which just launched a new website this week). Stephen Winslow (of The New Dominion and Virginia Viewpoints) will be there.

I’ve written about payday lending here before.

You can read Stephen’s open letter to the House reps on The New Dominion.

You should get to know Mr. Winslow a bit better before you take him too seriously.

I do know him. I talk to him all the time. He and I don’t see eye-to-eye on many things, but I think his crusade against predatory lending is commendable, and I support it.

Stephen formerly managed a Payday Loan place in H’burg, and he knows what he’s talking about.

  3. I know this is late coming, but the Feb. 3 educational forum on the predator practices of Payday Lending went very well. There is so much to share with those that are not familiar with this business that you always feel you should have said more, but we covered a lot of material.

Knowsall must not know me…there’s a certain irony to that statement isn’t there…

You may not agree with me, but “getting to know me” will leave you with no question about my passions regarding politics and the world we live in. Thanks fin, for the forum and for informing people about what is happening in their world.
