Coincidentally, Harrisonburg City Schools (my employer) already had parent/teacher conferences scheduled for today so I’m waiting to hear if they will be cancelled or not. Probably not, is my guess. :(
BTW, all the reports I’m getting say that roads aren’t good.

Let me know if you hear Gxeremio because I have one with my child’s teacher and was wondering about it. I’m sitting here minding the young ‘uns since we can’t go anywhere!

That sucks for the teachers, not to mention a rip-off for the students. It’s like having a snow day on Saturday.

My work is delayed until noon — not enough time to go to Massanutten. I’m thinking of trying to snowboard down my street.

Just found out that I don’t have to come to work at all today. Maybe I will go to Massanutten after all.

Yeah, I guess dairy farmers and homeschool teachers don’t really have snow days.

The roads ARE bad. Be careful if you have to drive on them.

I’m going to work on a short story for a writing competition next month, then I plan on hanging out at Nightmare house and beating everyone to a pulp in Trivial Pursuit and/or Scrabble.

Just an update – I’m here at school, and other teachers are too. So I guess the day is on. The lane to the school is quite icy and I’m wondering how it will be when we leave after dark.

Well my regular trip to nova is postponed, so I’m (hardly) working from home, and fending off needy lap cats.

Just was out and about downtown and elsewhere in the city. The roads seemed pretty good to me compared to earlier. A lot has melted.

I drove to Staunton this morning to go to work. Roads weren’t that bad…
…if you know how to drive on bad roads.
Verona by the way had the best roads of all. No snow or ice or anyhting but right at the Staunton line the road was covered.

So using my math I get,
    County > City.

Barnabas, do you think that had ANYTHING to do with the fact that the Augusta County Government Building is in Verona, and some of the snow removal trucks are located there as well?

I want to know how the roads were in Churchville compared to Staunton – then that would be a good comparison.

Agreed on the massanutten conditions. I took the afternoon off with one of my coworkers to head up there it hasn’t been that nice up there in a long time.
