MACRoCk happening?

Brent Finnegan -- February 9th, 2007

This was posted on The Drop a few days ago. According to the blog, MACRoCk is set for April 20th & 21st. No bands confirmed yet. If this is true, it’s a new development because MACRoCk was said to be dead in the water this year, due to unpaid debts inherited from previous years.

I have done my best to independently confirm this with someone on the committee, but he refused to respond to my emails for whatever reason.

I just confirmed this with someone working with the committee. I’ll update it as I hear more about it.

In my opinion, if they’re doing it they should go ahead and make a public announcement about the status. A lot of people including myself would like to know if everything is okay.

I hope they can keep it going. I’m sure they could find some palatable underwriters that wouldn’t comprimise their principles too much.
