Sayre and the VFF: BFF?
Brent Finnegan -- June 1st, 2007
WSVA is reporting that the Valley Family Forum will host Scott Sayre for a “town hall meeting” at Cornerstone Church. According to a press release that was sent out by the VFF, the event will “discuss issues to include how to best protect the sanctity of life and how to strengthen the institution of marriage.”
Is this an endorsement or what? And why is Cornerstone hosting it?

What does “strengthen the institution of marriage” mean? outlawing divorce comes to mind, but I’m not sure that is what they mean.
I assume they mean make sure that homosexuals are never allowed to marry. Although you know…that’s already illegal. I don’t know how long they will continue to beat the same dead horses.
If those people would stay home and deal with their own marriage instead of talking politics all day, maybe that would help families stay together. My lord, protect the sanctity of my life and bring in some new issues that bring the community together!
I shouldn’t have been surprised, but Scott Sayre is pretty anti-immigrant.
And the VFF being in bed with him must mean…what? Immigrant families aren’t worth protecting?
Cornerstone has every right to host this group and this forum. Goodness knows that churches have been a reliable means of support for all kinds of causes, good and bad. But hosting the VFF and candidate Sayre sends a message to the community, and I hope the church realizes what that message is.
From Gxeremio’s link to Scott Sayre’s site:
“Why let businesses wait until February of every year to get illegal immigrant W-2′s returned. Identify the illegal immigrants now and solve the problem or face litigation.”
Once again, the typical misconception that businesses are allowed to inquire after an applicant’s immigration status. They aren’t. Reform that process first.
“I will support legislation to: Allow for litigation when an employer knowingly hires illegal aliens and harms a law-abiding competitor.”
This already exists. Oh, and as a bonus, HPD has been known to send in SWAT teams now and again.
