Blogs United Conference

Brent Finnegan -- July 13th, 2007

This isn’t exactly local, but bloggers from all over Virginia are headed to Hampton Roads this weekend for the Blogs United conference. I thought about going, but I’m not. Seems like it could be a good idea, but I also see the potential for “new media” to get adulterated with the whole pandering and schmoozing scene the same way many mainstream journalists have been… Then again, most blogs are focused on tracking state politics more so than this one.

But I would be interested in participating in this discussion: “…Also on tap for the conference are discussions focused on the impact of the new media on traditional media outlets…” (The New Dominion).

The only local bloggers going that I’m aware of are republitarian and Whackette.

I missed it, but Creigh Deeds apparently gave an outstanding speech.

According to the other blogs….the best thing to come from the conference was when someone passed gas.

Creigh’s speech was amazing. It was worth going just for that. Maybe next year Finnegan and zen. You both would have had a blast.

Perhaps. Like I said, I’d like to participate in the new media/old media discussion.

That posting showed a lot of class, Benny — not.

    Dave,
“Passing gas has no class” .. I don’t know about your moral compass …look at the type of stuff you put on your website.
That’s old news. But hey, you’re keeping me the talk of the town. It’s an election year. Thanks!

Dave, to have a picture like that in your opening profile for ANYONE to see if wrong. Please, if you insist on showing nudity, warn people first. This is a site that my duahgters check out. They like the comments but I don’t need them to have access to your fetish.

I removed the link to his site, Frank.

Dave, if you feel that it’s absolutely necessary to put that stuff on your blog, why not make some sort of warning page, or fold the post so it’s not right there on the index page.

I would like to get this off my chest…Dave Briggman and Myron Rhodes are nothing but “Scumbags”. I have repentance in me and nothing will come between me and GOD.

Benny, I’m going to tell you this one more time.

I don’t like or approve of the posting of that picture. I didn’t like it when you tried to convince Jesse I was “swacfan”. I didn’t like it when you set Jesse up to go after Cynthia Fitzwater on the radio, one of your wife’s employees.

I think you need to chill out and quit accusing people of things they haven’t done.

You are wearing on my last nerve…..

  12. Benny Neal says:

    Myron,
You obviously have me confused with someone else.
    I haven’t accused. I haven’t set up.
I don’t post on your site just for this reason.

So much for the clean campaign.

  14. Hey Benny, what it is you have repented from? You say you’ve repented, but in the DNR on March 7 of this year, you spoke of your Playgirl shoot by saying “I don’t feel it was a bad thing.”

Looks like your “Clean Campaign Pledge” has been flushed yet again by it’s profferor.

You people seem to be pretty shaken by a piece of anatomy most of the men have on here…I doubt you’d be so queezy about a pic of our servicemen or civilians being killed in Iraq or most any depiection of violence.

  16. What Frank?

I visit injured Air Force who have returned from the battlefield on a weekly basis at Walter Reed. Don’t even think of questioning my support for troops on the battlefield. My actions and my words show otherwise.

  17. And Frank, I have the courtesy to refer to you by your name…I don’t think it’s too unreasonable to expect the same from you.

  18. Frank J Witt says:

Sorry about the isspelling…just rushing thru to comment. Then why do you insist on showing otherwise. I respected you enough prior to today I just need to be reminded about the mortatily/injury…I do watch tv and the news so you know I know the numbers involved.

  23. I think it’s over, finnegan, Benny’s silence — yet again when confronted with his own words — is deafening.
