Reggae In Liberty Park

Thanh -- August 28th, 2007

Wednesday, August 29, is the last evening of Reggae in Liberty Park for this summer. You should all check it out. It starts at 6:00pm. The Greg Ward Project is fantastic to listen to and I guarantee you’ll have a great time.

I went to Reggae in Liberty Park for the first time two weeks ago, and I wish I had gone to more. It was a beautiful evening with a mix of young children and their families, teenagers, and adults, all together enjoying each others company and the good music. One thing that really made me happy was seeing the young kids playing among the flowers and bushes around the raingarden and flower beds. I’m a big proponent of “natural play“, and Liberty Park is a great example of places where kids can go to, play, and be creative.

Reggae in the Park alternates Wednesdays with Fundfest

  4. So, is Fun Fest tonight or not? Thought I heard on the radio it was the last one.

  5. kai says:

OK, I did a little research. There IS FundFest AND Reggae in the Park tonight.

FundFest tonight is a make-up for a rained out event in May.

Thanks to the Greg Ward Project for essentially performing gratis all summer at Liberty Park. Also thanks to Kai for helping publicize this. It has been great fun, and I am looking forward to some fall performances and next year. If you get a chance, check the park and the new bridge out.

    Peace y’all,
Thanks so much for all the support and awesome love everyone has brought to Reggae in the Park. Thanks Kai and Charlie for being great advocates of Harrisonburg citizens taking initiative. It has been all that I have hoped for and more. By the way, we have one, possibly two more reggae in the parks.
Sept 12 and possibly the 26th, depending on the weather…
Oh, and this Friday, the 7th of Sept, The Greg Ward Project will be performing for the downtown blockparty for JMU and EMU’s return. We will perform at 5:15pm between the courthouse and Artful Dodger, then Midnight Spaghetti. They say last year was tons of people, so we are hoping it will be something similar this year. See you there or somewhere soon! -Greg
