IMS story correction
Brent Finnegan -- November 9th, 2007
A few weeks ago, I posted a story about Innovative Marketing Solutions (IMS) which needs to be corrected and clarified.
I stated that “IMS has been linked to some misleading junk mail.” I’ve been informed that IMS did not send out the mailer with a fake Delta boarding pass. IMS fields calls from the mailer, which is intended to market timeshares.
Secondly, I quoted an 800notes.com user, who claimed that IMS sells “their phone/postcard/mailing/sweepstakes services to many different vendors.” IMS tells me that they do not sell their lists. The owner wants to assure the public that the operations of eValley and IMS are separate.
I did not contact IMS and eValley owner, James Mason, for comment on that story. I apologize to Mr. Mason for any misleading information in the October 26 post.

Isn’t one of the points of this blog to bring about dialogue. This isn’t a newspaper.
I received a mailer today from “Award Fulfillment 76 West Water street Harrisonburg VA 22801.” It said that I had submitted a registration form to on of their participating merchant locations (which I did not) in the Shamrock Enterprises $10,000 Giveaway. They even included a copy of my registration form, which had my name spelt wrong, my signature (which looked nothing like my signature) and my age (incorrect of course). Thank you for this blog. I am glad I checked before calling the number…1-800-296-0095
A relative of mine got the exact same letter, only he actually did fill out one of those sweepstakes entries.
Same Water Street address, same 800 telephone number. The idiots are targeting the wrong person, though!!!
