Child pedestrian involved in car accident

Harrisonburg police are currently investigating a car accident involving a 2-year-old pedestrian. The accident occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of Waterman Drive. The child was transported to Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

    … A car turned off of Chicago Avenue onto Waterman Drive, going between 10 and 20 miles per hour when a two-year-old boy darted off from his mother and ran into the side of the car.

    The child was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital, where we are told he is still being treated.

    Police say the child was conscious and breathing when he was taken away.

    No charges will be filed against the driver.
