Minor accident involving city school bus delays trip home

Evan Dyson -- April 28th, 2008

A minor accident in Harrisonburg delayed the trip home for four students from Stone Spring Elementary School Monday afternoon.

The accident, which occurred on Kenmore Street near Reservoir Street around 3:50, involved a Chevrolet Silverado and Bus 16.

Rescue personnel, city police, and school officials responded to the scene.

According to Schools Superintendent Donald Ford, four children were on the bus at the time in addition to the driver and an aide. Everyone was checked by EMTs and no one was injured, he said. He added that the principal, who was also on scene, had parents notified that their children had been involved in a minor accident and would be a few minutes late coming home.
