hbblogs.com
Brent Finnegan -- May 8th, 2008
You may have noticed a change in the blog headlines in the left sidebar: it’s actually updating properly. That’s because we’ve switched aggregators from hburgblogs.com to hbblogs.com. The old one never worked properly, and Mason Wolf has created a new site for local bloggers that should serve as a hub for local blogs.
Mason, a transplant blogger from the Chattanooga, TN area, wrote in an email:
I commend the site chattablogs.com and cite it as my inspiration. It’s a well-trafficked and well-known site within the city of Chattanooga, TN. Anyone connected to Chattanooga can start a blog there or add their existing blog’s RSS feed to their directory. It’s truly a wonderful source for bloggers to stay connected with their local blogging scene.
hbblogs.com is a greater step in the direction I was headed with hburgblogs.com. Last year, I wrote, “it’s essentially the voice of a community. It’s another source of local information, musings, and opinions, and an alternative to traditional, commercial media like the DNR.”
Mason has opened the site up to bloggers who would like a local host. If you want to start your own blog, or would like to transfer your current blog over to Harrisonburg Blogs, Mason can do that for you. In March, I started a film review blog on Harrisonburg Blogs.
However, if you just want to add your current blog to the aggregator, you can do that, too.

Just checked it out – it looks great and is very user-friendly and inviting. Thanks for the referral!
Looks very cool. Also, looking forward to commenting far too much on your film blog.
finnegan – I greatly appreciate the encouragement you’ve provided all through the process. Thanks for letting people know about the new site!
I’m happy I’ve been able to play a role in coalescing the local online community. That was the original intent of hburgblogs.com, but ultimately I think your site has much greater potential to serve the community in that capacity.
