Dead & Breakfast
posted by Brent FinneganBy the Side of the Road Bed and Breakfast on Garbers Church Road recently made the BedandBreakfast.com list of “Great Places to Sleep With Ghosts.” I’m not sure how being a “dead and breakfast” is supposed to boost business, but the listing states:
When the [Side of the Road] innkeeper went to turn off the basement light, something grabbed her hand, yet nothing was there. Just about every day footsteps are heard in hallways, and doors unexplainably open and close.

I think there are some people who find that sort of thing appealing. Me? Not so much. But I’m sure it will get someone out there to visit.

By the Side of the Road isn’t the only B&B in town with a ghost or two! I’m leading four ghost tours in October and November as part of Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance’s Fall Walking Tour Series. Visit http://www.downtownharrisonburg.org for more information.

And I’m very much looking forward to those ghost tours - the spookier the better!
