The Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) is reporting a shooting which occurred at 12:30 early this morning. According to a news release by Mary-Hope Gangwer, HPD’s newly hired Public Information Officer, Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Kelly Street.

The unidentified male victim, age unknown, was shot twice and transported to Rockingham Memorial Hospital in a personal vehicle.

Police are asking anyone with information related to this crime to contact Crime Solvers at 574-5050.

Harrisonburg Police Search for Shooting Suspects

Sept. 26, 2008

Harrisonburg Police are searching for three suspects believed to be involved in Thursday’s early morning shooting.

On Sept. 26, around 12:30 a.m. police began investigating the shooting of a male in the 200 block of Kelley Street.

The victim continues to recover and has been released from UVA Medical Center.

Carmen Ada Alcazar-Torres, 26, of 112-B Penny Lane in Bridgewater is wanted for malicious wounding and a firearm offense.

Ariel Alexander Batista, 25, of 112-B Penny Lane in Bridgewater is wanted for malicious wounding and a firearm offense.

Investigators are working to positively identify the third suspect. He is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-30’s, weighing 200 pounds, and 6 feet tall. His nickname is “Juju.”

Police are seeking the community’s help to provide any details regarding this investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers at 574-5050. All calls to Crime Solvers remain anonymous and the caller could receive a financial reward.
