hburg Twitter 2.0

Brent Finnegan -- October 3rd, 2008

The Twitter feature hasn’t been working for some time. Yesterday I created a workaround: an hburgnews hashtag. Here’s how it works:

Anytime anyone with a Twitter account sees news happening in or near Harrisonburg, include #hburgnews somewhere in your update. It will show up in the sidebar of hburgnews. That’s it. Pretty simple, huh?

Come on, Twitterers. Is there seriously nothing happening out there?

Try the hashtag and tell us what you’re seeing.

  2. Renee says:

Hey I just created a twitter account and tried the #hburgnews trick and it’s not showing up in the sidebar… did I do it right?

  3. finnegan says:

Yes it is. It just takes a little while to update in the sidebar.

  4. Renee says:

OK, I see. I did see it there and waited a while, and didn’t know it took that long to show up. Thanks!
