Warner officially endorses Obama
posted by Brent FinneganUntil now, Mark Warner has not been actively campaigning for Obama in the presidential race. But now that Obama has taken a lead in statewide polls, the former governor, who has been endorsed by several state Republicans, is directly endorsing Obama in radio ads. From the Washington Post blog:
The 60-second ads will run across the state including Northern Virginia, central Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley and Southside and Southwest, rural areas that have traditionally supported Republicans but where Warner is extremely popular.

I wonder if it has more to do with the fact that VA is projected to go blue and Mark would like to ride the wave.

Follow the first link and check out the full story, Phil.
Also this:
“It’s unclear whether Warner, who is trying to draw bipartisan support for his bid for U.S. Senate against former James S. Gimore III, will star in an ad.”

Based on that poll, it certainly looks like we are changing one Warner for another, although they are quite different.

Would Warner have been the keynote speaker at the convention if he didn’t support Obama?

In fact, didn’t he actually endorse him at the convention, or is my memory just fuzzy?

For the purposes of this news, I’m making a distinction between “supporting” and “actively campaigning for.”

endorse = support [publicly (and Warner has)]
And the headline says “endorse.”
But yeah, I should have read the article a tad closer. I’m very sorry.
