Get HBurgNews via Twitter and TXT

Get hburgnews.com headlines on the go!

You can now be alerted on your cell phone when a new story is posted on hburgnews by using Twitter. Just sign up for a free Twitter account and “Follow” the hburgnews tweets, then turn on the text message “Device Updates” to receive notifications. We set it up so the article titles are cross-posted as tweets (short Twitter messages).

It’s free other than what your cell phone provider charges you for text messages. The hburgnews Twitter account is set up to check for new blog posts once per hour. It is also set up to “repeat” the tweets you post with the #hburgnews tag that show up in the Twitter sidebar here on the blog.

    Uh oh, it’s going to create a circular text messaging loop since the “repeat” tweet also contains #hburgnews. Better take that part out! So, sidebar tweets won’t show up on hburgnews twitter.
