The Death of Jeff White
Brent Finnegan -- March 2nd, 2009
News and rumors of Jeff White’s death have been swirling on Facebook and Twitter for about 24 hours. Most accounts I’ve seen report that the Lieutenant colonel died of heart attack during a church service in Texas yesterday. Expect a story with more details in tomorrow’s DNR.
Jeff was politically active in local conservative circles. He was an occasional commenter on hburgnews, as well as other local blogs. I’ll update this post with more details as they become available.

I met Jeff at the rally for/against Virginia’s marriage amendment in October, 2006. Although we disagreed about many things, he was generally an intelligent and respectful person to engage/debate with. Surely he will be missed.
LTC White was the advisor to the College Republicans at JMU and he helped us bring Dinesh D’Souza to campus.
He was an extremely passionate and interesting person to be around.
Facebook’s a great, highly-functional tool…it’s a damn terrible way to find out that a good friend of yours has died…I may have been the last person on Friday night that he spoke to before going to bed
It is very sad for his family — and for our country.
LTC Jeff White was a great friend and colleague at the 4 ID at Camp Liberty in Iraq and a never-ending source of faith and conviction. Surely, our lives are now less colorful with his passing.
May God be with his wife and family during this difficult time.
I worked with LTC White for the last few months he was in Iraq. He was a wealth of knowledge as well as full of interesting facts and stories. Even when things were stressful, when asked how he was doing, groovy was always the answer. I pray for his family through this difficult time. God bless.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of LTC Jeff White. He was an amazing person to work with, one of few when I was in Iraq. He was incredibly smart and energetic, always keeping things interesting and making people laugh through his creativity. He will be missed.
