Taste of Downtown & International Dining Club

Renee -- March 6th, 2009

As Josh, Andy, and Lisa mentioned in the comments on the Photo Tour of Downtown Restaurants post, the Taste of Downtown event is back next week on March 10-12.

Downtown Harrisonburg restaurants will be offering lower-priced fare, including sampler platters. It’s a great opportunity to take advantage of if there’s a restaurant you’ve been meaning to try out, or if you’re not usually “adventurous” in your menu choices and want the chance to sample what other dishes your favorite dining venue has to offer.

Participating downtown restaurants include:

  • The Artful Dodger
  • Blue Nile Ethiopian Cuisine
  • Cally’s Restaurant & Brewing Co.
  • Clementine
  • Dave’s Downtown Taverna
  • Dowtown 56
  • Franklin’s Cafe & Wine Bar
  • Indian-American Cafe
  • Joshua Wilton House
  • Mrs. Hardesty’s Tea Room

Check out the select Taste of Downtown meal choices on the Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance site!

I also just learned of the “International Dining Club Card” on Harrisonblog. Apparently, you can get a card for $40 per couple, which entitles you to “buy one get one free” meals at each of the restaurants in the club 12 times per year. It looks like they limit usage to “husband and wife” (I don’t know whether they’d check if you’re married, but it seems the point is you can’t hand the card to a friend to use in your absence).

Participating restaurants are in Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Charlottesville, and include: Kyoto, Little Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Blue Nile, Texas Roadhouse, Artful Dodger, Franklin’s Cafe, etc.

Sounds like a great deal, especially if you eat out more than once a month! More details on the IDCC website.
