Obenshain wants Frederick out

Brent Finnegan -- March 11th, 2009

In January, Walter Curt wrote a letter to the chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia, Jeff Frederick, resigning his post as chief fundraiser for the RPV after only eight months at the job. Today, Inside NoVa reports that Sen. Mark Obenshain was one of six GOP state senators to sign a letter asking Frederick to step down, stating that “the party is no longer functional under his control.” (H/T Adam Sharp)

A large majority of members of the party’s state central committee already has called for Frederick’s ouster. A removal vote, which requires a three-quarters vote of those present, is scheduled for April 4.

If I got a vote, I’d keep him in that job forever. (Did I mention that I’m a Dem vice chair for the city and the Sixth District?)

  3. I just wish these hamsters would worry half as much about paying the cost of the Commonwealth’s government. Have you noticed how few of Virginia’s Republican Delegates have identified Frederick as a dud?

Democratic chair Cranwell, on the other hand, will apparently be around for awhile. No robo-calls required.
