White Supremacist Graffiti on Wolfe St?

Brent Finnegan -- August 19th, 2009

Today’s HPD Noteworthy Report listed “Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property,” reported last night at 10:52 p.m. at the 300, 400, and 500 blocks of East Wolfe Street. The HPD report states that “several individuals reported an unknown person spray painted graffiti on telephones and houses in this area.”

WHSV is reporting that police are investigating a possible hate crime in that neighborhood.

Up and down the block, pro-white messages were written on utility poles, and on people’s homes …

HPD says this is the first case of possible “hate” they’ve seen in quite some time.

I’m not sure what the “pro-white” messages said, but if anyone has pictures, or has seen it, please share in with the hburgnews readers.

Another wonderful example of WHSV’s vague and uninformative reporting.

I live in the neighborhood. It doesn’t look like spray paint – it looks like it was done with a brush. There were two phrases painted: “KKK” and “white power”. Some were on utility poles; some on the front steps of houses.

  3. Thanks, Tina. The HPD report says spray paint. The WHSV story says someone saw a woman with a cup and a paint brush.

  4. Anyone who defaces property with graffiti should be punished by having to personally scrub it off.

Painting slogans on walls will not improve the plight of the FORTY-FOUR MILLION White Americans who live below the poverty line.

When someone advocates for the betterment of the Latino or Negro races, these are considered to be well intentioned, “community organizers” yet if someone speaks on behalf of White Americans, corporate media sneers and calls these concerned citizens, “White Supremacists.”

A message to those vandals who painted their political views on others’ property: That is no way to further your cause, or to win support from others.

Here in the Twenty-first Century, the best thing any citizen can do, is to join groups that work for the common good of all citizens, and help move us forward toward a merit-based society, where talent and hard work is the only path to success; not someone’s gene pool of origin.

It seems a can of spray paint would be so much easier to carry and would be quicker too.

  6. Speaking of living “here in the twenty-first century,” how about using 21st Century language? The meanings of many words change over time as context changes. “Negro” is no longer a culturally acceptable term for blacks, and hasn’t been for some time. Even Webster’s calls the word “sometimes offensive.”

I’m assuming you don’t refer to whites as Angoloid.

… if someone speaks on behalf of White Americans, corporate media sneers and calls these concerned citizens, “White Supremacists.”

I’m not familiar with that. I thought they were just called mainstream media commentators and analysts.

I’m not sure what your point is, J. This news item is about someone who defaced specific property in an effort to upset people. What are you talking about?

Yeah, but most of those 44 million white people below the poverty line are just “anchor great-grandbabies” of previous immigrants who came here without documents. They should go back to Europe if they want good jobs and health care.

Presumably the pro-White commenter above was referring only to the categorization of “White Power” graffiti as racist, and missed the part about KKK, presumably because he doesn’t know what it spells.

By the way, a lone white woman with a cup of paint seems more like a provacateuse than an organized hate group. Will it turn out to be performance art?

  11. Delataire says:

I cannot but wonder if the DNR would have printed that the graffiti was racist if the painted slogans had read:

    Black Power
    BPP (Black Panther Party)
    Black Muslim Brotherhood
    Brown Power
    La Raza
    Aztlan
    Mecha

Somehow I doubt it. The DNR would have taken the liberal stance of calling it all “Ethnic/minority pride”.

The DNR is only liberal on the days that VNN Forum is rational.

Deltaire, though whether the Black Panthers are racist could be argued (and I’ll add I am more in favor of non-violent forms of protest), as far as I know, they never killed someone just for being white, though the KKK has killed many people just for being non-white. There are totally different motivations behind those organizations.

This may just be my impression, and I know both sides promote separatism (which I disagree with), but when I hear “Black Power”, I hear “I come from an oppressed race, but I am proud of my heritage, and we deserve better. Let’s stand up for our rights and protect our people.”. When I hear “White Power”, I hear “Only Caucasian people deserve to live. Everyone else should either die or be a slave to a white person. Let’s go hang a black boy.”

  17. J.,

Quite aside from “Negro” being borderline insulting, there is no such thing as “the Latino race.” There are Spanish speaking people from Latin America who are of pure blood Spanish descent, which means as white as any Valley Scotch-Irish or German descended person.

Of course one mestizo commentator on the DNR considers pointing this out to be racist. It’s more of the same, “Only Whites can be racist.” nonsense.

    Delaware,

Are you arguing that you (and the VNN Forum) are not racist, or are you arguing that it’s OK for you to be racist because some non-whites are? But then if you do concede racism, you would have to believe that non-whites possessing an attribute would not necessarily justify your having it. Complex issue.

  20. Delataire says:

Joe, I am arguing that everyone has a degree of racism. And that it is wrong to say “Only Whites can be racist”. That’s what the press, regardless of being conservative or liberal does. Because it is politically correct and part of the multicultural agenda.

    Delaware,

Do you have a specific example of any medium reporting that only whites can be racist, or is that your interpretation of something that you’ve never heard?

  22. Renee says:

“Renee Whites can stand up for their rights and protect their people too. Or do you disagree?”

Yes of course any group can protect themselves from a danger. What I’m saying is that in America, historically, other races have more often had to defend themselves from the actions of whites than vice-versa. So that definitely affects my perception of “white power” vs “black power”.

  23. Renee says:

And in that Carolina Journal article, you have found one example of an extremist calling for extermination of whites. I was discussing national organizations like the KKK and Black Panthers, and what they have done historically.

    Joe,

    http://newsbusters.org/node/5448

As you can see, the attitude that “Only Whites can be racist” extends from the East Coast to the West Coast.

    Renee,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Black_Panther_Party

“The Southern Poverty Law Center, a NBPP critic, has pointed to NBPP members stating sympathy or understanding of Kamau Kambon’s advocacy of the genocide of whites, and Khalid Abdul Muhammad in his statement that “there are no good crackers, and if you find one, kill him before he changes.”

    Delaware,

My mistake: I should have said any medium that somebody might read.

  26. Renee says:

I have never heard of, nor was I referring to, the “New Black Panther Party”.

“Despite its name, the NBPP’s founding was independent and it is not an official successor organization to the Black Panther Party. Members of the original Black Panther Party have insisted that this party is illegitimate and have vociferously objected that there “is no new Black Panther Party”.

In addition, the Southern Poverty Law Center is apparently most known for its opposition to white supremacist groups like the KKK, and other hate groups (the original Black Panthers aren’t mentioned as a hate group).

Sly move trying to substitute in the NBPP for the Black Panthers and use the SPLC as support of your argument.

  27. Renee says:

And I still stand by my argument about the difference in the historical actions of the “white supremacist” groups (KKK) vs. the “black power” movement (Black Panthers).
