JBS Set to Buy Pilgrim’s

The WSJ is reporting that Brazilian beef corporation JBS is indeed set to buy Pilgrim’s Pride — something they were unwilling to confirm two weeks ago. But even still, it’s not a done deal yet.

A JBS-Pilgrim deal would probably attract scrutiny from U.S. antitrust authorities, who have said they plan to take a hard look at competition in the agriculture business.

    With Pilgrim’s in bankruptcy it’s probably a “done deal.”
