Martinez Gets Deportation Deferment

Brent Finnegan -- September 23rd, 2009

Remember the HHS grad that was set to be deported in August? The DNR is now reporting that Maria Martinez has been granted a deportation deferment for another year.

For now, she is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at an immigration court in Arlington on Jan. 27. In the meantime, Martinez will continue to take care of her younger brothers and teach her neighbor to speak English so the woman can obtain her GED. Martinez wants to go to BRCC in January. 1. Read the comments on the DNR story. So much hate and ignorance.

  2. Delataire says:

    Maria is quoted:

“I believe that the [illegal immigrants] who do bad stuff, that don’t follow the law, they should be punished and sent back to their country,” Martinez said. “But the people who are trying to be someone, the people who are good to their community, they should not be treated the same way.”

So we have Maria engaging in Them versus Us. This is acceptable?

Yet those who differentiate between legal immigrants and illegal aliens are labeled as racist haters, etc…

    Can you see the hypocrisy?

    No. I can’t.
