Lohr To Chair Ag Subcommittee
Brent Finnegan -- January 19th, 2010
Del. Matt Lohr has been appointed Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Agriculture in Richmond. WSVA reports:
As Chair, Lohr will be responsible for setting the legislative agenda for issues that relate to agriculture, chairing all meetings, and directing the proposed legislation [for the state of Virginia].

Lohr is a wrapped gift laid at the feet of Big Agribusiness.
One cannot, reasonably, disagree with Jon.
Funny how all of my postings pass through moderation if I’m critical of a Republican…but if I’m critical of, say, a guy who just closed his market…well those just don’t seem to make it.
You’re right, that is funny.
Your Jan 19 comment doesn’t violate the guidelines in red font. Your other comments did.
Just EXACTLY how did saying if Miller was “more tolerant” of those who have opposing political views, he might have had a more affluent customer base at his store, violative of your censorship policies?
Dave, like Brent said – comments are not moderated for political affiliation, but for name-calling. “One cannot, reasonably, disagree with Jon.” and Jon’s comment about Lohr being good for Big Agribusiness are cleanly-stated opinions. You know we don’t censor opinion here.
If more of your comments about Democrats get removed, it’s not because of their political party, but because of bad things you’re calling them.
Of course you censor your blog…your statement that you don’t is complete crap.
While my comment to Dave Miller about what rights gays don’t have the heterosexuals do was posted, my comment to him that if we was more tolerant of the political views of others, perhaps a more affluent clientele would have visited his Market, perhaps preventing his closure.
Maybe, perhaps, perhaps. Then again, you have no idea what their books looked like.
And yes, everything you post, and everything new users post goes into a moderation queue for approval. I never said we didn’t censor anything. We don’t censor based on someone’s political or religious opinion. However, I have deleted several comments in the queue (mostly yours) based on tone.
This is like scolding the groundskeeper for weeding the garden. If you want vitriol, anonymity, and little or no moderation of comments, go to the DNR’s opinion page.
I didn’t say we don’t censor. I said we don’t censor opinion. We do censor for name-calling and nastiness. We try to keep the comment section here clean & civil, and most people adhere to the rules with no problems.
About your comment to David Miller, I don’t know why it was originally removed, but I see Brent let you have your say on it now.
