Restaurants Raise Money for Haiti

Brent Finnegan -- January 28th, 2010

Several Harrisonburg restaurants are holding fundraisers to aid in the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. This evening A Bowl of Good, which has been serving Haitian food all day, is donating proceeds from this evening‘s sales to ongoing earthquake relief efforts. According to a recent tweet, The Oriental Market donated some of the food the restaurant will be using.

Beyond and Clementine are also holding fundraisers within the next few days.

This is Praserth Saesow from Beyond restaurant. Please come join us to help the people of Haiti in this time of need. At Beyond on January 31, 2010 we will be holding a three course benefit dinner with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund. Beyond will be seating from 12-3 and 6-9 P.M. Reservations encouraged, $50 minimum donation/person. Alcohol sold separately. Any monetary donations are welcome and collected by Red Cross Volunteers at Beyond.

On Monday, Clementine will be showing the film The Agronomist, and collecting donations for the Mennonite Central Committee’s (MCC) Haiti Earthquake Fund.
