Local podcasts

Jeremy Aldrich -- February 9th, 2010

In addition to the growing local blogosphere, there are also quite a few locals who podcast regularly.  Here are a few recently updated podcasts which are produced nearby:

Ask the Techies is a video podcast hosted by JMU employee D. Lee Beard.

My friend and former roommate Matt Swortzel and his brother Chris, a local DJ, produce Babbling Brothers the Geek Show, chatting about science fiction movies and TV shows.

Augusta Free Press, in addition to their impressive online offerings, also produces The Chris Graham Show which deals with “Virginia politics from a Shenandoah Valley perspective”.

Several local churches produce podcasts of sermons, including First Assembly of God, First Church of the Nazarene, and Grace Covenant Church.

Not only does Chris Swortzel do the Babbling Brothers show mentioned above, but he also makes his radio show Righteous Rock available in podcast form.  The show had aired on X103 “The Cross”, but the station recently joined a national network and decided to end all local programming.

What other podcasts do you know of  in the area?
