Public Safety TeleCommunicator Week and Local Communicator of the Year

Lindsay -- April 15th, 2010

Congrats to Brittany Wampler, HRECC 2009 Communicator of the Year. Media release from Harrisonburg-Rockingham ECC:

Each year the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Emergency Communications Center announces its Communicator of the Year during National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week.  This week honors all Public Safety Communicators for the work they do to keep their communities safe and to provide a voice of calm and assistance for every person dialing 9-1-1.

The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Emergency Communications Center’s Communicator of the Year is a prestigious honor that is bestowed upon one outstanding employee.  Employees worthy of this honor include those who excel at their regular job duties but also take on and seek out projects and jobs duties above those of a normal Communicator. The Communicator of the Year displays leadership, a willingness to excel individually and promote and integrated team approach to public safety communications.

The recipient of the 2009 HRECC Communicator of the Year award has been an employee with the ECC for over 4 years.  This person worked diligently to become trained, sought out mentors and excelled in every aspect of the job.  We are proud to announce that Master Communicator Brittany Wampler has been selected as the HRECC 2009 Communicator of the Year.
