Mendez Won’t Seek Re-Election To School Board

Brent Finnegan -- May 6th, 2010

WSVA, TV3 and the DNR reported this week that Harrisonburg City School Board member Tom Mendez will not seek a third term. Mendez made the announcement on Tuesday’s school board meeting, and released a statement.

. . . I’ve experienced the joy of having four of my six children graduate from Harrisonburg High School with a strong educational foundation that they carried on to college. Three of those children are now gainfully-employed college grads and one is a sophomore at JMU studying to become a teacher.”

Mendez is one of six school board members.
