Gene is correct, I’m perfectly OK with five debates…though I’d be out of town for any debate next week — should I decide to run…though my timeframe to make a decision is diminishing.

Under Virginia law all candidates who aren’t Democrats or Republicans must run as independents…just like only Republicans or Democrats are the only ones who make up local electoral boards.

It would seem to me that, in a compressed timeframe for the election, an increased number of debates would be the best way for all candidates to get their views out to the most people. There simply isn’t enough time to go door-to-door all across the district. C’mon, lady and gentlemen, let’s engage each other and the voters.

I can’t think of anything better than to have five debates…my concern about entering the race comes from today’s “First Friday” of the local GOP where there was concerned about Kai handing out loads of absentee ballots…

Of course, had McDonnell not rushed the election date and made it AFTER July 1, local voter registrars could have cross-referenced their voter registration lists with DMV records to minimize the participation of college students in elections in jurisdictions where they aren’t paying property taxes.

Oh, that was my idea, wasn’t it.
