Fire Dept. Delivering Pizza, Checking Alarms

Brent Finnegan -- July 7th, 2010

The Harrisonburg Fire Department announced free pizza delivered by “firefighters in apparatus” so they can check residents’ smoke alarms.

All Harrisonburg residents call CiCi’s Pizza tonight (July 7) 4 to 8 p.m. and order your FREE large one-topping pizza to be delivered by firefighters in fire apparatus. They will check your smoke alarms and make sure they are working, too! Last year we delivered pizzas and checked smoke alarms in 460 homes in four hours…help us beat that record this year. Available for single family residences. Call tonight!

(Thanks, Chris)

Got our pizza and our alarm checked. Thanks HFD and CiCi’s!

No doubt. What an awesome program. My 4yo son seriously flipped when the fire engine pulled up. The firemen let him sit in the truck. A day to remember.

We must have gotten on the tail end of it. We got a fire SUV and just two non-suited up Fire Department personnel. That was fine, though. I think our daughter would have been freaked out by firemen in full gear. Plus there wouldn’t have been anywhere to park the truck on Old Town. LOL
