Lewis Named New Assistant City Manager

Today the City of Harrisonburg named Anne Lewis the new Assistant City Manager.

Former Assistant City Manager Evan Vass returned to his old position as town manager in New Market in July, after a 2-year stint in Harrisonburg.

Since the news of Vass’ departure in May, more than 120 people applied for the position.

According to the official statement released Tuesday afternoon, Lewis is currently the Assistant City Manager for the City of Winchester.

She has been with the City Winchester for the last ten years, including the last four as Assistant City Manager (ACM). Among her duties as ACM in Winchester, she served as direct supervisor of the Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Parks & Recreation, Social Services and Transit Departments. She has also served on an interim basis as Transit Director, Redevelopment and Housing Director, Executive Director of the Winchester‐Frederick Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Winchester Parking Authority . . .

Ms. Lewis will begin working with for the City of Harrisonburg on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.
