Cuchi Guidos, a New Jersey-style pizza and sub restaurant in downtown Harrisonburg, was open a little under seven months before they closed their doors last week. TV3 reports that the some employees haven’t been paid.

Today the City of Harrisonburg named Anne Lewis the new Assistant City Manager. Former Assistant City Manager Evan Vass returned to his old position as town manager in New Market in July, after a 2-year stint in Harrisonburg. Since the news of Vass’ departure in May, more than 120 people applied for the position.

In 2007, Harrisonburg City Council passed a resolution asking General Assembly to cap payday loan interest rates at 36 percent. At tonight’s council meeting, members could vote to reiterate that request to Richmond.

Harrisonburg Man Among Those Killed in Afghanistan Attack

The Associated Press has identified Harrisonburg resident Brian Carderelli, 25, as another victim of an attack on a Christian aid mission in northern Afghanistan.  Nine others in the group were also killed, including EMU graduate Glen Lapp, as previously reported.
