City Streets Closed for the Holiday Parade

Press Release -- December 3rd, 2010

The Harrisonburg Police Department wants to remind citizens and parade-goers of the street closings for the parade on Friday, December 3. The parade begins at 7 p.m.; however, streets will be closing earlier in the day.

Below is a list of street closures:

* Main Street from Cantrell Avenue to Gay Street will be closed starting at 6 p.m.

* Eastbound lanes of Cantrell Avenue from Main to High Street will be closed at 5:30 p.m.

* Court Square will be closing at 3 p.m.

* The left lane of Liberty Street from Bruce to South Main Street will be closed at 5 p.m.

 It is recommended that large trucks use Interstate 81 to detour through the city. Other streets to use as a detour are Grace to High street and Mason Street.
