Vision for Downtown
A presentation by local architect Eugene Stoltzfus, on The Vision for Downtown, will be held on Thursday September 25 at 6:30pm at City Council Chambers, 409 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg. The presentation is open to the public and will also be aired live on City Span, Channel 3 on Comcast Cable for citizens to watch from home.

Richard Clarke, former chief counter-terrorism adviser on the U.S. National Security Council, will be speaking at the Court Square Theater this Sunday evening. Clarke will host, appearing with Denis McDonough, Sen. Tom Daschle’s former foreign policy adviser. They will be discussing and promoting Barack Obama’s foreign policy plan.

Wild at Art!
The “Wild At Art” show opening and reception is happening this Friday September 5 at Clementine Cafe.

Warner addresses Democratic National Convention
Tuesday evening in Denver, former Virginia Governor Mark Warner took the stage at the Democratic National Convention to provide his support for presidential candidate Barack Obama. Following a standing ovation and rhythmic chant of “Warner, Warner, Warner” from the audience, he took the podium shortly after 9:40.

Farmers Market Week, Challenge
National Farmers Market Week is August 3 through 9. The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is challenging everyone to eat local for a day. The Downtown Harrisonburg Farmers Market is open Tuesday August 5 and Saturday August 9 from 7am-1pm.
