Midtowne Market To Reopen

When Midtowne Market closed their doors in January, you could almost hear a collective “nooo” issuing from downtown Harrisonburg. But the convenience store has been sold, and will soon be reopening under new management.

Best Buy Moving In

The rumor floated on Twitter last week is confirmed in today’s Daily News-Record: Best Buy is coming to town. According to the story, it’s expected to open in May in the former Circuit City location in Harrisonburg Crossing.

City Not Kidding: “Clear Your Sidewalk”

Today the city announced that starting Monday, February 15, they will issue citations for unshoveled sidewalks in the city.
From the release sent out this afternoon:
“Under city code section 6-1-15, sidewalks are to be clear within three hours of the end of snowfall or by ten in the morning if the snow has fallen overnight. [...]

Study Says Add More Parking

The engineering firm hired to study parking in downtown Harrisonburg recommended that the city add more spaces. TV3 reports the firm’s recommendations include “adding as many as 500 parking spaces in downtown, increasing the overtime parking fee to $20 and getting tough on repeat parking offenders.”
