This week, September 13-20, is Cycling and Pedestrian Awareness week reminding bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists that collisions can be reduced and even prevented in many instances by knowing the law and following guidelines.

In a news release today, the Harrisonburg Police Department, on behalf of the City of Harrisonburg, reminded the community of residential permit parking zones. There are three different permit parking zones in the city and they are defined in Harrisonburg City Code section 13-1-60:

I hadn’t visited the Our Community Place website in a long time, and was surprised to find a very interesting OCP Newsletter posted on the front page. The 20 page newsletter, from November, highlights many of the activities of OCP and others who they share their building with do, such as:
