Kids can make and paint an angel for your tree from clay in time for Christmas-so cute! Or they can make gifts for Mom and Dad during our Drop n Shop night. Very affordable! Make your own wine bottle cheese trivets during one of our Make N Take workshops for a really affordable and thoughtful gift. Check out our website http://www.youmadeit.net for details or call the studio 540-434-4500 for more information and hours.”

Do a double “joiner” in a fancy joint!

First, join the Friendly City Food Co-op at a beautiful cafe for some splendid snacks - on us!
Then, join the co-op as an owner - supporting bringing a healthy, community-owned grocery store to downtown Harrisonburg.

Where: Earth & Tea Cafe (120 S. Main St., in Harrisonburg)
When: Thursday, Dec 11 @ 4:30-6:30pm

Bring a friend, co-worker or a neighbor to have some free munchies and become the newest supporter of this healthy, downtown endeavor.

See ya’ Thursday! :)

I heard through the grapevine that with so many students going home this week, JMU is looking for more “townies” to fill the seats at the game this Friday 12/12 at 8pm.

No way, Josh! I was literally just daydreaming about that 2 days ago after having spent some time on Google Maps and wondering when they’d get to the ‘Burg.

I’m checking it out right now!

Oh, it only did I-81… you did say passed by, I should’ve slowed down and read it in my excitement… well, that’s a start!

An indie movie filmed in the local area called “Familiar Strangers” is going to be at Court Square Theater starting this week:

I’m looking forward to going sometime this weekend. The film was produced locally, the producer being an hburg resident, and local places in the movie include: Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Harrisonburg,
and Broadway.

I’m also partial to English Springer Spaniels, and there is one on the movie poster. :)

I’m looking forward to finding places/people that I know in the movie!

While looking at old Hburgnews posts, I came across a link to this blog, which now says the Rocktown documentary will premier at Court Square Theater in Feb. 2009:

We’ll have to keep an eye on it.

Did anyone catch “Familiar Strangers”?

Comment from Jeremy Aldrich

Yes, we saw it. It was neat to recognize so many local places. The acting and writing were so-so, but the technical quality of the movie was good.
