In the spring of 2007, Sam Rasoul began his long, ambitious campaign to challenge Republican incumbent Congressman Bob Goodlatte for the sixth district seat in 2008. Now, less than seven months out from the November 2010 election, no challenger has stepped forward from the Democratic Party to challenge Goodlatte. Although there will be other names [...]
There was no brandishing of firearms or bitten fingers at the Turner Ashby High School auditorium this morning, but emotions still ran high. Rep. Bob Goodlatte hosted a well-attended town hall meeting on the subject of health care reform, and residents representing a wide range of concerns and opinions turned out en masse.
Rep. Bob Goodlatte will visit Turner Ashby High School in Bridgewater to discuss health care reform Saturday, September 5, at 10:00 am. Roanoke.com notes, “Goodlatte’s announcement of the meetings come as Democrats Tom Perriello and Rick Boucher have seen hundreds of people show up for their own town halls.” Goodlatte vehemently opposes the plans being [...]

Next Thursday, WSVA will host a debate between Rep. Bob Goodlatte, Sam Rasoul, and Janice Lee Allen at the Holiday Inn. Unless I’m mistaken, this will be the first time incumbent Goodlatte and challenger Rasoul have debated. Several weeks ago, there was a little dust-up after Goodlatte declined to participate in a proposed YouTube debate [...]
Last week, an article appeared in the Star City Harbinger in which Janice Lee Allen, an Independent candidate from Harrisonburg running for U.S. Congress, questioned where Democratic nominee Sam Rasoul’s loyalties lie.
This is a political campaign stunt I’m not familiar with: paying for part of your gas. Sam Rasoul, Bob Goodlatte’s hybrid car-driving Democratic challenger is planning a campaign event at the Texaco Food Mart on South Main High this Wednesday, June 4th at 4:00 for 40 minutes. A press release sent out by Rasoul states [...]
